Dothan, AL : A Chipley man died in a one-vehicle crash in Washington County on Sunday, May 28, 2017

A Chipley man died about 5:30 a.m. Sunday in a one-vehicle crash in Washington County, Florida.

According to a press release from the Florida Highway Patrol, Travis Taylor Ham, 28, died when his vehicle left the roadway, struck a tree and he was ejected.

The 2000 Chevrolet Tahoe driven by Ham was traveling south on State Road 77 exiting a sweeping, downhill curve that transitioned into a straight level roadway when it traveled onto the west grass shoulder south of Mobile Swamp Road.

The vehicle continued southwest across the west grass shoulder rotating clockwise into the wood line bordering the west grass shoulder.

Upon entering the wood line, the vehicle struck an oak tree with its left side and the driver was ejected into the wood line.
