Motorcyclist killed in wreck at rail crossing in Jonesville Florida

A 46-year-old Jacksonville man died Wednesday after his motorcycle crashed into the crossing arms at a Northside railroad crossing.
Steven Powers Gott exited Interstate 95 and was northbound on Zoo Parkway where CSX rail workers were working on the crossing arms, which were in the down position, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.Gott hit the arms and was thrown from the motorcycle, which traveled about 75 yards before falling over, said Sgt. Dylan Bryan. Gott, who was wearing a helmet in the 9:15 a.m. accident, was taken to UF Health where he died.Bryan said there was no train present while the workers were testing the equipment. He said the warning bell and lights at the crossing were activated.
