A tractor trailer crash on U.S. 322 eastbound on Thursday afternoon was the result of an unsafe speed of travel, according to a report from Pennsylvania State Police Lewistown.
Rafael Tovar, 46, of Houston, Texas, was traveling in a 2000 Freightliner Classic at the base of the Seven Mountains when he attempted to negotiate a left hand curve in the roadway and lost control of the unit. The unit struck a guide rail and traveled down the embankment, striking multiple trees before it came to final rest. It was also reported that fuel leaked from the unit’s fuel tank as a result of the crash.
