Milaca, MN : Juvenile killed in farming accident near Milaca on Friday, 13th September 2019

An 11-year-old died Friday afternoon near Milaca after the horse-drawn manure spreader he was operating with his 13-year-old brother hit a rock, throwing both juveniles off, Mille Lacs County Sheriff Don Lorge reported in a news release.

The Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Communication Center received an emergency call of a farming accident at 6292 110th St. at 9:22 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 6.

When deputies arrived at that address they learned that two juveniles, ages 13 and 11, had been operating a team of horses when they hit a rock, throwing both of them off the farm implement, the news release stated.

After the juveniles fell, the 11-year-old was then run over by the manure spreader causing his death, Lorge reported. The 13 year old sustained non-life threatening injuries.
