Jacksonville ,Fl : Motorcyclist dies and passenger hurt on MLK Parkway on Wednesday ,July 8th 2015

A 26-year-old man died and a woman was seriously injured after a crash in Brentwood Wednesday night, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The Florida Highway Patrol said a minivan was traveling southbound on Martin Luther King Parkway attempting to make a left turn to travel northbound on the ramp to Interstate 95. A Suzuki Motorcycle was traveling northbound on Martin Luther King Parkway in the right lane.

Troopers said the driver of the minivan attempted a left turn causing the driver of the Suzuki to steer away from the car and the front of the Suzuki collided with the right side of the minivan.

Two people were on the motorcycle and both were taken to UF Health Jacksonville. The man died at the hospital, and the woman is said to have serious injuries.

The identity of the man on the motorcycle has not been released, pending next of kin.

The crash closed all westbound lanes of Martin Luther King Jr. Parkway for several hours.
