Oklahoma City, OK : Fort Gibson woman dies in Muskogee County wreck on Monday, July 25, 2016
A Fort Gibson woman died Monday after a wreck at a Muskogee County intersection about a mile east of Fort Gibson, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol reported.
About 8 p.m., Regan Thompson, 19, of Fort Gibson, was driving north on 2 Mile Road and failed to yield as she tried to cross U.S. 62. Her car was struck by a vehicle traveling west on U.S. 62., troopers said.
Thompson and the driver of the westbound vehicle, Bret Adams, 45, of Tahlequah, were taken to a hospital for treatment.
Johnie Oakball, 66, of Fort Gibson, a passenger in Adams' vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene, the patrol reported.
Seat belts were in use by all occupants, troopers said.
