Southern Blaine County, ID : 2 injured in crash at the intersection of state Highway 75 and U.S. Highway 20, in southern Blaine County on Tuesday, 20th August 2019
Two people were transported to St. Luke’s Wood River hospital for minor injuries following a two-vehicle collision Tuesday at the intersection of state Highway 75 and U.S. Highway 20, in southern Blaine County.
According to the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office, deputies responded to the junction around 5:30 p.m. Initial reports stated that one of the vehicles hit a power pole and that another vehicle was on fire. Citizens in the area were able to extinguish the fire before emergency personnel arrived, according to the Sheriff’s Office.The investigation ultimately revealed that a silver 2018 Kia Soul, driven by Emmet G. Hartlove, 18, of Concord, Calif., was driving westbound on U.S. Highway 20 when he failed to yield to traffic on state Highway 75 and struck a white 2000 Jeep Cherokee driven by Silvia H. Leal Martinez, 42, of Gooding, who was driving southbound. The Kia then ran into a power pole, leaving power lines blocking a portion of the highway, the Sheriff’s Office reported.
