South Kingstown, R.I : Man killed in South Kingstown motorcycle accident early saturday on June 7, 2014

A man died early Saturday morning after he was found severely injured and laying in the brush several feet from a heavily damaged motorcycle early Saturday, police said.

Rescue workers treated the man at the scene and brought him to South County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead, according to a news release.

Police were withholding the victim’s name Saturday, pending notification of next of kin.

A 911 call at 1:43 a.m. reported a motorcycle crash near 3367 Kingstown Rd., at the intersection of Waites Corner Road, the release states.

Police found a heavily damaged Suzuki motorcycle lying on the north side of the road; the man – severely injured – was found several feet away in dense brush.

The accident is under investigation.
