Eau Claire, WI : One dead, one badly injured in a crash in Clark County on Friday evening, March 10, 2017
A 35-year-old man died Friday evening in Clark County on the scene of a one-vehicle rollover crash.
Andy M. Mallory was pronounced dead by the county coroner a little after 5 p.m. along Starr Road in the town of Lynn.
The driver of the truck, Steven R. Faber, 35, was airlifted to HSHS St. Joseph’s Hospital for “incapacitating injuries,” according to the Clark County sheriff’s office.
An investigation found that Faber drove the pickup truck eastbound on Starr Road when he lost control. The truck spun clockwise, entered the ditch and rolled several times before coming to a rest on its wheels.
Neither man was wearing a seat belt and both were ejected from the vehicle. Alcohol and speed appear to be factors in the crash, the sheriff’s office stated in a news release.
This is the first traffic death this year in Clark County.
