A North Augusta man has died after an early-morning motorcycle crash in Edgefield County on Monday, according to the Edgefield County Coroner’s Office.
Beau Mack Mabrey, 35, died in the crash, which occurred on Highway 121 at the intersection of Monument Drive in Johnston, the Coroner’s Office said.
The crash occurred around 12:30 a.m.
Cpl. Robbie Harter, of the Edgefield County Sheriff’s Office, said Mabrey was being pursued by a S.C. Highway Patrol trooper.
The trooper was not involved in the crash, Harter said.
The Edgefield Sheriff’s Office and Coroner’s Office are investigating the incident. The body was sent to Newberry for an autopsy Monday morning.
