SUMNER, WA : 1 killed in suspected DUI crash in Pierce County at Sumner Tapps Highway East and 162nd Avenue East on Tuesday, 29th January 2019

Deputies are investigating a fatal crash involving three vehicles in Pierce County on Tuesday evening.

In a tweet, the Pierce County Sheriff's Department said the crash happened at Sumner Tapps Highway East and 162nd Avenue East after 8 p.m.

Investigators said a pickup truck driving at a high-rate of speed slammed into the rear-end of a silver vehicle that had stopped to make a left turn. The silver car was then pushed into the opposite lane, where it was struck head-on by a Toyota.
