Cullman, AL : Gladys Talley, 85, died after a single-vehicle crash east of Hanceville on Friday afternoon March 25, 2016

A single-vehicle accident Friday afternoon claimed the life of a Cullman woman.

Gladys Talley, 85, of Cullman was killed when her vehicle left the roadway while traveling northbound along Alabama Highway 91.

The accident occurred at approximately 5 p.m. Friday near mile marker 28, about a mile east of Hanceville, and just west of the Center Hill community.

Talley’s vehicle, which was traveling away from Hanceville and toward Center Hill, struck a guard rail and descended an embankment.

Cullman County Coroner Jeremy Kilpatrick pronounced Talley dead at the scene shortly before 6 p.m. Kilpatrick said Talley, who was driving a Chevrolet sedan, was not wearing a seat belt.

There were no passengers in Talley’s vehicle. No other cars were involved in the wreck, and no other injuries were reported.
