SALEM, WI : one person dead and two students injured in a crash on May, Friday, 19th 2017

A crash between a van and school bus left one person dead and two students injured on Friday morning in the Town of Salem, according to a release issued by the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Department.

Deputies and the Salem Fire Department responded to the scene. A preliminary investigation determined that westbound bus, transporting students to Westosha Central High School, was stopped in the 24500 block of Wilmot Road (Highway C). The van, also traveling west, reportedly struck the rear of the bus.

Highway C between Highway 83 and 258th Avenue was closed in both eastbound and westbound directions.

Three injured students were transported to a hospital with minor injuries. The remaining students were transported to the Trevor Fire Department to be released to school officials and parents.
