The Penn State University student who died after crashing a university hotel van Sunday afternoon was a senior hospitality management major from New Jersey, the Centre Daily Times reports.
Joshua Mejia, of Bergenfield, was a driver for the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center, the newspaper reports, attributing the university.
He was returning at 1:55 in a Penn Stater Dodge Grand Caravan after delivering someone to the University Park Airport, the newspaper said.
Authorities tell the newspaper that Mejia turned left from Fox Hollow Road onto Park Avenue in College Township when he missed the exit ramp to Innovation Park, striking a metal post, the newspaper said. The van caught fire, the newspaper said.
He died a short time later in a hospital, the Associated Press reports.
