HARLINGEN, TX : Harlingen man dies in auto/ped crash on April, Tuesday 11th 2017

A Harlingen man died after he was struck by a car early Tuesday morning.
The Texas Department of Public Safety is investigating the crash that occurred about 6:50 a.m. on Bass Boulevard, south of Business 83.
Preliminary information indicated a Mercedes Benz passenger car was traveling south on Bass Boulevard when the car struck the man. The driver of the Mercedes Benz remained at the scene.
The incident is still under investigation. Officials have yet to release the identity of the victim. DPS Lt. Johnny Hernandez said the man is classified as a “John Doe” for now.
No charges have been filed against the driver at this time.
