Tate County, MS : Teen killed, Four injured in head-on crash on Arkabutla Road near Highway 51 in Tate County on Friday afternoon, September 19, 2014
Accident re-constructionists worked a crash site Friday afternoon that killed a college student, according to the Tate County sheriff.
The accident happened around 9:30 a.m. in Tate County. Three DeSoto Central High School seniors, all 17 years old, and a Northwest Mississippi Community College student collided head-on with another driver on Arkabutla Road.
" I almost couldn't tell it was a car. It was extremely awful because the first thing you do when you see that is like, somebody didn't make it. It was that bad," witness Victoria Roberson said.
The three teens and a 67-year-old woman, who was driving the other car, were airlifted to Regional Medical Center in critical condition. Upset friends rushed to the hospital for support.
College student Magan Nicole Brower was 18 years old.
"Prayers go out to Magan Brower's family. I'm really going to miss her. I feel so sorry for her loss," Tyler Stahel said.
As of Friday evening, investigators continue to investigate where the teens were going.
"I believe they were skipping school, so he should of stayed at school. This would never happened," friend Nick Benson said.
