VOLUSIA COUNTY, FL : A driver was killed overnight in a rear-end collision on Saturday, September 2, 2017

A driver was killed overnight in a rear-end collision crash in Volusia County.The crash occurred around 3:30 a.m. at US 92 and Clark Bay Road.

Troopers said a van was traveling in the westbound lane on US 92 when the driver, who has not been named, activated the hazard lights to slow down and pull off US 92 onto the right shoulder.

A Dodge pickup traveling behind the van failed to slow down and collided into the back of the van. Troopers said two occupants were transported to Halifax Medical Center -- one in critical condition.

The driver of the van, a 55-year-old man, died from his injuries.

The driver of the pickup, Justin Wagner, 27, received minor injuries.

Troopers said the crash remains under investigation and charges are pending.
