A 12-year-old Vilonia boy was killed in a two-vehicle collision Thursday morning.

According to an Arkansas State Police crash summary, Danny Knight was pronounced dead on scene.

His mother, Halea Knight, 35, of Vilonia was driving a 2004 Toyota east on Highway 64 when she struck the rear of a John Deere tractor at 8:35 a.m. Thursday.

According to the crash report, the Toyota “came to a rest on top of the passenger [Danny]” after he was ejected from the vehicle.

Knight was taken taken to Conway Regional Medical Center for injuries sustained in the crash. Her condition is unknown at this point.

Authorities described conditions as cloudy and dry at the time of the crash.

The 12-year-old boy’s death was the 171st fatality this year on Arkansas roads, according to preliminary records.
