Capitola , CA : Three injured in collision between motorcycle car on Friday night ,May 8th 2015
An Aptos man riding a motorcycle and two women in a sedan were injured after a head-on collision Friday night, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
About 7:30 p.m., the man was riding a motorcycle west toward 47th Avenue when he collided with a vehicle driven by a Santa Cruz woman, officer Trevor Smith said.
The man was thrown off the bike, bouncing off the windshield of the vehicle before landing in bushes nearby, Smith said. He suffered a broken right leg and was taken to Dominican Hospital before being airlifted to a Bay Area trauma center.
The driver was cleared from the scene and drove herself to Dominican, Smith said. A passenger in her car, a Santa Cruz woman, complained of neck and back pain and was transported to Dominican.
The collision remains under investigation but Smith said witnesses reported seeing the motorcycle driver cross the double yellow line because he was speeding, Smith said.
