FORT MADISON, IA : A Fort Madison man died in a single-vehicle accident on Monday, May 29, 2017

A Fort Madison man died Monday afternoon in a single-vehicle accident when his truck overturned on 180th Street, according to the Iowa State Patrol.

The incident happened at 1:40 p.m. on J48, near 315th Avenue.

According to the crash report, Hoyt F. Grossman, 33, was eastbound when he drove his truck off the right side of the road. Grossman over-corrected, lost control and went off the left side of the road. His truck then struck a culvert and flipped on its top.

Grossman was not wearing a seat belt.
