Seven people injured in Haralson County head-on school bus crash

A head-on collision involving a Haralson County school bus and a pickup truck Thursday morning sent seven people to the hospital.

The bus was traveling east on Hwy. 120 towards Buchanan and a black Dodge pickup truck, driven by a 17-year-old girl, was traveling west on Hwy. 120 towards Tallapoosa.

The truck crossed the centerline and struck the school bus head-on.

Five students and the bus driver were taken to a local hospital with minor injuries. The driver of the pickup was airlifted to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.

There were 39 students on the bus.

The investigation is ongoing and Hwy. 120 will be closed for several hours.
