Pickens, SC : Motorcyclist killed after striking tree, ejected in Pickens County on Tuesday, October 18, 2016

The coroner has identified the motorcyclist who died after running off the road and striking a tree in Pickens County Tuesday, according to troopers.

Marcus Horne, 20 of Inman, died from blunt force trauma after he lost control of his motorcycle Tuesday afternoon. the coroner reports.

Troopers said Horne was traveling north on SC Highway 11 at South Saluda Road when he ran off the road, struck a tree and was ejected at 5:50 p.m.

Horne was wearing a helmet and was transported by EMS to Cannon Memorial Hospital where he was pronounced dead, troopers report.
