Santa Paula,CA : Six taken to hospitals after crash near Santa Paula on June, Tuesday 13th 2017

Six people were taken to local hospitals after a vehicle crashed into a wall Tuesday just outside of Santa Paula, officials said.

The California Highway Patrol reported the incident about 5:50 p.m. in the 4400 block of Santa Paula Ojai Road near Mupu Elementary School.

One person was trapped inside the vehicle but was freed by rescue crews just before 6:20 p.m., according to the Ventura County Fire Department. Steve Swindle, a county fire engineer and spokesman, said another person was thrown from the vehicle.

Four ambulances were requested and all six people were taken to hospitals in Ventura and Santa Paula, authorities said. Swindle said the occupants, four adults and two toddlers, did not appear to have serious injuries.

The Santa Paula Fire Department was also on the scene.
