MURFREESBORO, TN : Bicyclist dies after being struck by hit-and-run driver on Thursday, 18th July 2024

Murfreesboro Police have identified the man they believe was driving a vehicle that struck and killed a bicyclist on Thursday night.

Police believe Isaiah Isom, 41, of Murfreesboro, was driving a 2011 Buick Enclave that struck the bicyclist around 5:30 p.m. on South Rutherford Boulevard near Walmart. Police said Isom initially fled the scene.

The identity of the 30-year-old man riding he bike is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.

Isom has been charted with leaving the scene involving death/serious bodily injury and driving on a revoked license due to a previous DUI. Additional charges are possible.
