BOONE COUNTY, WV : 2 seriously injured by hit-and-run driver on Friday, 20th October 2023

Two people were seriously injured Friday after being struck by a hit-and-run driver in Boone County, Sheriff Chad Barker said.

The driver was detained in the Madison area, according to the sheriff, and is in custody. He said she was driving a black minivan.

Barker said the incident happened in the Quinland area alongside state Route 85. It was reported around 3 p.m.

“They (the pedestrians) were waiting; they were talking to some folks standing beside the road. They weren’t on the roadway,” Barker said.
