Vienna, MD : Cassidy Stinton, 19, died in a car accident on Reid Road on Tuesday, April 14, 2015

A teenager from East New Market died from injuries she sustained in a car accident, according to the Dorchester County Sheriff's Office.

It happened Tuesday on Reid Road.

The sheriff's office said a 2004 GMC pickup truck was traveling east when it went off the roadway and overturned in a ditch.

Police say the water in the ditch was several feet deep. The front of the truck was submerged in the water.

Six people were in the truck; 2 juveniles and 4 adults.

One of the adults, Cassidy Stinton, 19, was taken to PRMC and died from her injuries.

Police say two other adults and one juvenile were taken to Dorchester General Hospital. They were treated and released. The other adult and juvenile did not need treatment.

Police say they are investigating what happened. There could be charges pending the outcome of the investigation.
