Rockton,IL : South Beloit woman killed in 1-vehicle crash in Rockton on February, Tuesday 6th 2018

A 58-year-old woman from South Beloit was killed in a one-vehicle crash Tuesday evening just north of South Bluff Street and Prairie Hill Road, according to the Winnebago County Coroner’s Office.

The woman’s name is being withheld pending notification of family.

The woman was traveling south on Bluff Street when she went off the roadway and struck a tree, according to a news release. She was the only person in the car and pronounced dead at 6:36 p.m., the news release states.

The death is under investigation by the Winnebago County Sheriff’s Department. An autopsy by the coroner’s office is pending.
