Sunbury,PA : Three hurt in Elysburg crash on September, Saturday 16th 2017

Three people were hurt and one had to be freed using the Jaws of Life following a two-vehicle accident about 12:30 p.m. Saturday in Elysburg.

A red pickup truck and a Hyundai Elantra collided in the 800 block of Market Street, Route 54, in Elysburg, according to emergency officials.

Firefighters had to remove the roof and a rear passenger side door from the Elantra to free a young woman. The three crash victims were taken to the hospital by Elysburg ambulance, officials said. The red pickup truck overturned after the collision.

Elysburg and Ralpho Township firefighters of Overlook responded, along with the ambulance and police. Traffic was backed up from the scene of the accident to near the All Saints Cemetery on Route 54 as emergency crews worked at the scene.

Ralpho Township Police Chief Stu Appel is investigating the accident. He was at the hospital following the crash, according to a 911 dispatcher.
