Wabash County, IN : 1 dead in Wabash County crash on U.S. 24 near Wabash County Road 300 East on Sunday, 28th April 2019

A Peru man died Sunday in a two-vehicle crash on U.S. 24 near Wabash County Road 300 East, Indiana State Police said today.

At about 2:25 p.m., state police at Peru said, Timothy Martin, 48, was driving a motor scooter and Stephanie Smith, 28, of Andrews was driving a Subaru east on U.S. 24.

For a yet-to-be-determined reason, police said, the Subaru rear-ended the scooter, ejecting Martin.

Martin, who was not wearing a helmet, died at the scene, police said. Smith was not injured.
