VALLEJO, CA : A 58-year-old Vallejo woman died on Tuesday, June 20, 2017
A 58-year-old Vallejo woman died after a Tuesday morning crash on Curtola Parkway west of Lemon Street, according to the Vallejo Police Department.
Ma Samonte was a passenger in a silver Toyota Corolla that was headed west at about 6:31 a.m. on Curtola Parkway when the car’s driver attempted to make a left turn into the SolTrans Curtola Park and Ride Hub and the Corolla was struck by an eastbound silver Lexus GS300.
Samonte was transported to a local hospital where police said she died from her injuries. The driver of the Corolla, Samonte’s daughter and a 31-year-old Vallejo resident, had what police described as minor injuries.
The driver of the Lexus, a 26-year-old Vallejo man, was not injured. His passenger, a 62-year-old Fremont woman, was transported to a local hospital with what police described as minor injures.
The collision remained under investigation. Anyone with information about the crash is asked to call Officer Jim Melville of the Vallejo Police Department Traffic Division at 648-4014.
