ARUNDEL, ME : 2 young men killed in Arundel crash on Thursday, 24th September, 2020

Two young men were killed Thursday afternoon in a fiery single-vehicle crash.

Deputies were called to the area of Log Cabin Road about 1:30 p.m. in response to a wreck that claimed the lives of Jacob Dupuis, 20, of Gorham and Henry O’Neill, 19, of Standish, according to a statement from York County Sheriff Bill King.

An initial investigation revealed Dupuis was driving east on Log Cabin Road near Fairfield Drive, in a 2008 GMC Sierra rack body truck owned by Carter Design Group, when the vehicle crashed into a tree, King said. The impact caused the truck to burst into flames, entrapping both men, he said.

The York County Sheriff’s Office offered its condolences to the young men’s families and thanked members from the U.S. Secret Service, Kennebunkport Police Department, Maine State Police, Saco Police Department, Arundel Fire Department, Kennebunk Fire Department and all other agencies who provided assistance at the scene.
