LAKE CITY, FL : A 26-year-old woman accused of driving away from a crash on Saturday, July 29, 2017

A 26-year-old woman accused of driving away from a crash Saturday afternoon was arrested a short time later and charged with leaving the scene and driving without a license, according to the Florida Highway Patrol.

Troopers said Samantha Strait had an 8-year-old boy in her pickup truck when she turned left at the intersection of SW Bascom Norris Drive and SW Mary Ethel Lane about 1:30 p.m. and struck a 69-year-old man's car.

The other driver was not injured.

Several witnesses saw the crash and provided the license plate number of the truck. Troopers located her at her Lake City home a short time later and charged her with the crash and on other outstanding charges in Columbia County.
