A state trooper with North Carolina Highway Patrol (NCHP) critically injured in a motorcycle crash in west Charlotte Monday morning is steadily improving, officials say.
According to the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, officers responded to the scene near the intersection of Tuckaseegee Road and Edgewood Road around 9:30 a.m. Police arrived and found Trooper Christopher L. Wooten, a 14-year NCHP veteran, had been involved in the collision.
Trooper Wooten was taken to the hospital with serious injuries. NCHP says Wooten is in a Charlotte area hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Tuesday, Highway Patrol said Wooten’s condition was steadily improving.
