Hopkinton, MA : Driver killed in Pike crash on Thursday, 1st November 2018

A Beverly man was killed early last night when the 2002 Jeep Liberty he was driving plowed into the rear of a tractor-trailer on the eastbound side of the Massachusetts Turnpike in Hopkinton, state police said.

The crash occurred at approximately 6:30 p.m.

Hopkinton firefighters were able to extricate the victim from the wreck, but state police said he had already died from his injuries.

The 30-year-old victim's name was not immediately released.

Police identified the driver of the truck as a 42-year-old man from Quebec, Canada. He was not injured, police said.
