Bridgeport, NE : One dead, one injured in head-on collision in the Nebraska Panhandle on Sunday, November 9, 2014

A 53-year-old Alliance man has died in a head-on collision in the Nebraska Panhandle. The accident occurred a little after 1p.m. Sunday on U.S. Highway 385, about two miles south of the intersection with state Route 62A in Morrill County. The patrol says Virgil Kohler had been driving on south when his vehicle crossed the center line and rammed a northbound semitrailer driven by 49-year-old Alicia Alfaro, of Arizona. The patrol says Kohler died at the scene. Alfaro was taken to a Bridgeport hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
