Bloomington,TX : Bloomington man hurt in motorcycle crash on December, Tuesday 5th 2017

A Bloomington man suffered serious injuries Tuesday evening in a two-vehicle crash on SH 185 and was flown to a San Antonio hospital for treatment, a Department of Public Safety spokesman said.

Burl Columbus Luce, 67, was eastbound on the highway about 5:45 p.m. on a 2007 Harley Davidson motorcycle. Billy Wayne Rogers, 54, of Cuero, was driving a 2017 Chevrolet pickup when he failed to yield the right of way at a stop sign at Canal Road when he turned onto the highway, said Sgt. Ruben San Miguel, of the DPS.

To avoid colliding with Rogers, Luce swerved but struck the rear right side of Rogers' pickup.

Luce was taken to Citizens Medical Center and was then flown to San Antonio Military Medical Center in serious condition, San Miguel said.

Rogers was not injured and received a citation for failing to yield the right of way.
