Rochester ,NH : One pedestrian killed after he struck by tractor-trailer along Route 101 on Thursday morning ,April 23 2015

A pedestrian was hurt after he was struck by a tractor-trailer in Rochester Thursday morning.

Police said the tractor-trailer was traveling northbound on Rochester Hill Road, which is also known as Route 108, around 6:15 a.m. when the pedestrian stepped into the roadway. The driver swerved to avoid the pedestrian but still hit him.

Police said the man was treated at the scene and taken by helicopter to Maine Medical Center with serious injuries.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was not hurt.

Police said the driver does not face any charges and speed and alcohol were not factors in the accident.

Route 108 was closed for about an hour after the crash.

The crash is still under investigation.
