DODGEVILLE, WI : LeClaire man dies in Wisconsin collision on Monday, March 20th 2017
A LeClaire man was killed Monday afternoon in an accident in southwest Wisconsin.
At 2:35 p.m. Monday, Iowa County, Wis., deputies responded to U.S. 151 south of Dodgeville for a report of a crash near mile marker 44, according to the crash report.
A 2012 GMC Sierra pick-up truck driven by Jeffrey J. Kirby, 31, of LeClaire, was headed north on U.S. 151 when it struck the rear of a tillage implement being pulled by an AGCO Challenger farm tractor driven by John J. Spraggon, 30, of Fennimore, Wis., at a reduced rate of speed, the crash report stated.
The collision caused the pick-up, the tractor and the tillage implement to skid into the U.S. 151 median. Mr. Kirby was transported to Upland Hills Health where he was pronounced dead by Iowa County Coroner Wendell Hamlin. Mr. Kirby was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash, the crash report said.
Mr. Spraggon reported no injuries. The accident remains under investigation.
Funeral arrangements for Mr. Kirby are pending with McGinnis-Chambers Funeral Home in Bettendorf.
