Cincinnati, OH : Javon Harris, 16, injured after hit-and-run crash in North Fairmount on Saturday afternoon, February 14, 2015

Police are searching for the driver who hit a teen in North Fairmount Saturday afternoon.

Cincinnati police said Javon Harris, 16, was dribbling a basketball in the 1600 block of Carll Street about 1 p.m. when he was hit.

Investigators said Harris lost control of his basketball and it bounced across the street. He was hit as he went after the ball.

Harris was taken to Cincinnati Children’s Hospital for treatment of serious injuries.

Officers said the vehicle that hit Harris did not stop at the scene. Witnesses reported seeing a silver SUV with front-end damage in the area after the crash.

Speed was not a factor, police said. The car may have left the scene eastbound toward Beekman Street.

Another teen with Harris at the time of the hit-and-run was not injured.

Anyone with information about the hit-and-run was asked to call Crime Stoppers at 513-352-3040.
