Washington Twp, NJ : Long Valley man died After Car Swerves, Hits Tree In Gloucester County on Tuesday morning, May 24, 2016

A Long Valley man died from injuries sustained in a car crash, police confirmed Wednesday.

At about 10:06 a.m. Tuesday, Jeffrey Martin, 49, was traveling south on Naughright Road in the Long Valley section of the township, Lt. Douglas Compton said.

Martin was the only occupant of his 2008 red Honda Civic when it drove off the southbound lane's shoulder and crossed back over the double yellow line into the northbound lane, Compton said.

The Honda ultimately came to a rest upon striking a tree, Compton said.

Martin was treated at the scene by the Long Valley First Aid Squad and was then taken to Hackettstown Regional Medical Center, Compton said.

Martin was pronounced dead at the hospital while receiving medical attention, Compton said.
