Two Idaho residents died early Sunday morning after their vehicle crashed into Trout Creek in Lolo National Forest near Riverbend, Idaho.
Hunter C. Skiles, 21, of Pierce, Idaho, was on Trout Creek Road just before 2 a.m. Sunday when he drove off the road and into the river, the Idaho State Police said in a news release. Skiles and his passenger, Crissy A. Hendren, 18, of Orofino,
Idaho, were killed in the crash.
Another passenger, Jakob G. Caal, 25, was taken to the hospital with injuries.
Nobody in the car was wearing a seat belt, and alcohol was a factor in the crash, the release said.
The road was closed for about eight hours while police investigated the crash.
