Moline, IL : Three people injured in Buffalo Prairie crash on Tuesday morning, October 4, 2016

A two-vehicle crash south of Buffalo Prairie hospitalized three people Tuesday morning, a Mercer County Sheriff's Office press release says.

The release says sheriff's deputies determined 25-year-old Austin Adams, of Aledo, was traveling eastbound on 170th Avenue when the crash occurred. The other vehicle, a truck, was driven by John Welch, 33, of Aledo.

Mr. Adams and his passenger Jessica Hill, 34, were extricated from the vehicle. Mr. Adams was flown in a MedForce helicopter to University Hospital in Iowa City, and Ms. Hill was transported in an Andalusia Ambulance to UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island, the release says. A hospital spokesperson said Wednesday afternoon she was no longer a patient.

A third passenger, 22-year-old Tanner Weig, of Reynolds, also was transported to UnityPoint Health-Trinity Rock Island. The condition of these individuals is not known.

Mr. Welch did not have any injuries needing immediate medical care. The Mercer County Sheriff's Department says it is investigating the crash. First responders from Buffalo Prairie, Joy, Andalusia, the Mercer County Sheriff's Office and Genesis responded to a report of a crash at 9:30 a.m.
