Trotwood,OH : Woman killed, one injured in 3-car crash in Trotwood on November, Tuesday 14th 2017
One person has been killed after a multi-vehicle crash in Trotwood.
According to Erik Wilson, Trotwood police chief, the crash happened on Salem Avenue, which is also Route 49, near East Westbrook Road around 7:15 p.m. Tuesday.
Three cars were involved in the crash. According to Wilson, a car traveling southbound at a high rate of speed on Salem Avenue rear-ended another car heading southbound. That’s when one of those cars crossed the median and struck a third car traveling northbound on Salem Avenue, Wilson said.
Two cars drove off the road, including one that went down an embankment.
A female victim was killed in the crash, Wilson said. Another person was injured and taken to Miami Valley Hospital, he added. That person’s condition is unknown.
A third person who was involved in the crash spoke with police on scene and is cooperating with the investigation, Wilson said.
Police do not yet know if drugs or alcohol are a factor in the crash, but speed is believed to be a factor in what caused the collision, Wilson said.
Salem Avenue was closed in both directions as crews cleared the scene. The road reopened around 11:30 p.m.
