Shelbyville, IN : Woman killed in I-74 accident Wednesday night, April 5, 2017

A Shelbyville woman was killed late Wednesday night while walking on Interstate 74.
The preliminary investigation led police to believe that Laura Goode, 33, was crossing the interstate near the 110 mile marker at around 11:50 p.m. when she was struck by a 2010 Mazda. A 2001 Hyundai then slid off into the median trying to avoid the remains of the deceased.
Investigators are unsure if the person driving that vehicle struck Goode in a second collision, according to Indiana State Police.
Both drivers were tested for alcohol but that is not believed to be a factor in the accident.
State police was assisted by the Shelby County Sheriff’s Office, Shelbyville police, Shelbyville Fire Department, Shelby County Coroners Office and Zores Towing.
