Spartanburg, SC : 26-year-old woman charged with child endangerment, DUI after crash on Thursday, November 20, 2014

Police in Spartanburg say a woman is facing charges after she drove her SUV into the front of a fast-food restaurant and injured a 5-year-old girl. The Spartanburg Herald-Journal reports 26-year-old Amanda Pruitt Murphy is charged with child endangerment and driving under the influence. Authorities arrested her after she was taken to the hospital for treatment of minor cuts and scrapes. A police report says Murphy's SUV struck another vehicle on Thursday, veered off the road and ran into the front of the restaurant. No one inside the restaurant was hurt. Police Capt. Art Littlejohn said the girl was not secured in her booster seat and was thrown into the center console. Littlejohn said the 5-year-old sustained cuts, swelling and bruising Murphy was scheduled to appear in court Friday.
