Canton, OH : An Alliance-area man was injured in a single-car crash on Sunday, December, 24th 2017

PARIS TWP. An Alliance-area man was transported by helicopter to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland after a single-vehicle crash on Union Avenue SE (state Route 183) early Sunday morning.

Samuel Durst Jr., 59, was driving a Hyundai Elantra north on the highway shortly after 1 a.m. Sunday when he drifted off the left side and rammed head-on into a tree stump, according to the Ohio Highway Patrol. Durst first was taken to Aultman Hospital in Canton, and subsequently transported to the Cleveland facility.

The wreck occurred about 21/2 miles north of Minerva. The investigation into the crash continues.
