San Antonio, TX : Man injured after crashing into barricade on the Northeast Side on Thursday morning, May 12, 2016

A 22-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday morning after slamming into a barricade on the Northeast Side.

According to the San Antonio Police Department, the man was headed east on Loop 410 when he crashed head-on into the barrier at the exit for Perrin Beitel Road around 3:18 a.m.

Emergency medical crews treated the man at the scene for a short time before taking him to the San Antonio Military Medical Center.

Officers at the scene said the man had serious injuries, but was stable.

Police said speed was likely a factor in the crash.
