Scott County, IN : 5 dead after vehicle crash in Scott County on Main Street north of Scottsburg on Friday, 9th August 2019

Five people died after an SUV crashed Friday morning in Southern Indiana, according to police.

Sgt. Carey Huls, an Indiana State Police spokesman, said seven people were in the SUV that crashed about 2:30 a.m. Friday on Main Street north of Scottsburg, and five of the occupants died.

The victims include three females and two males, Huls said.

The two other occupants, a male and a female, were taken by helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital, and their conditions are unknown, Huls said.

No identities or further details on the victims have been released.
