Deming, NM : Arizona man killed after a motorcycle crash on Interstate 10 in Luna County on Friday, January 22, 2016
New Mexico State Police say an Arizona man was killed after the motorcycle he was riding was involved in a crash.
Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo says the incident happened around 12:30 p.m. Friday just east of Deming on Interstate 10.
According to investigators, a van and a motorcycle were both heading westbound when they somehow collided.
Police say 61-year-old Craig Ammerman, of Tucson, was driving the motorcycle and he suffered serious injuries.
Ammerman was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The driver of the van was also injured and has since been treated and released.
Armijo says alcohol is not believed to be a factor in the crash.
The incident remains under investigation.
