Joplin, MO : Pedestrian struck, killed by tractor-trailer in Joplin on Monday night, December 7, 2015

Joplin police have identified the victim of a fatal vehicle accident Monday night as Micayla Christenson, 18, of Joplin.

Police said Tuesday morning that witnesses said Christenson fell into the traffic lane at the intersection of Seventh Street and Winfield Avenue and into the side of a westbound tractor trailer. The driver of the truck, who has not been identified by police, stopped and cooperated fully at the scene, police said.

The investigation is ongoing, police said
